Customers are able to sync their Cisco Meraki MC contacts list with Google Directory via Google for Work APIs using the following steps.
- Before Google Directory Integration can be configured in Dashboard, API access must be enabled In the Google Admin console allowing us to retrieve directory information. To enable API access, browse to 'Admin console' > 'Security' > 'API reference' > 'API access'. For more information on enabling API access, please click here.
- An administrators email account must also be setup with the correct API permissions. For more information on configuring custom Google API roles, please click here.
In Dashboard, browse to Phones > Settings and click the Setup button under Contact Management. Enter a Google account email address that has Google for Work API access. All accounts that are imported must be part of the Google Directory for this account. For more information, please click here.
- If you use organizational units to specify different classes of users, you can specify prefixes to include and/or exclude once an account is linked (eg. included /teachers in the 'Organization units to include' will only add contacts in the Teachers group as directory contacts). Leaving these fields empty will import all contacts, while specifying either list will narrow the scope. For more information, please click here.
