Proper pairing of radios on the MR58, MR62 and MR66 for Directional point-to-point links

Radios R1, R2, and R3 on the MR58 (and radios R1 and R2 on the MR66) use different portions of the frequency spectrum (R1 = 5.2 GHz, R2 = 5.8 GHz [MR58 only] and R3 = 2.4GHz), be careful to connect each antenna in a link pair to the correct radio so they are on matching frequencies.

Examples

[MR58-1] (R1) <---> (R1) [MR58-2]

[MR66-1] (R2) <---> (R2) [MR66-2]

Sometimes, more than 1 hop is necessary to reach a the gateway AP. In this instance a middle repeater MR58 is in between relaying the signal to repeat to the endpoints:

[MR58-GW] (R1) <---> (R1) [MR58-2] (R2) <---> (R2) [MR58-3]

In this case, MR58-GW is using R1 on 5.2GHz to communicate with MR58-2 using R1 on 5.2GHz and MR58-2 is using R2 on 5.8 GHz to communicate with MR58-3 who is also using R2 at 5.8GHz.

Note: The MR58 is usable in the EU, and the frequencies chosen under the ETSI regulations are different. Two frequencies at the opposing ends of the 5.4 - 5.7 GHz block will be used, not the 5.2 and 5.8 GHz used in the USA.
