Scheduled Recording

Overview

By default, the Meraki security camera's will record continuously 24/7. In some situations, certain times of day are not allowed to be recorded. Scheduled recording covers this requirement as well as improve the video retention capabilities of the camera.

How it works

When a recording schedule is applied to a camera, the camera will only store historical video within the defined schedule. Outside the schedule, the camera will still stream live video but not record historical video.

How to enable

  1. Go to Camera > Monitor > Cameras. Select a camera.
  2. Go to the Settings tab and select the Quality and Retention tab
  3. From here, select scheduled for recording.

An option will be displayed to create or select an existing schedule.

Above is an example of a recording schedule. On Wednesday, the camera will enable recording between midnight to 2:30 am and 9am to 6:30pm. All other time will be live stream only on Wednesday.
