Temporary changes to MFA, SAML, and security settings affecting some users

These changes affect only a small group of accounts. Most users are not impacted.

What is changing?

As part of an ongoing security upgrade, a few account management and security settings will be temporarily unavailable for select users. This includes:

  • MFA (two-factor authentication) setup and enforcement

  • SAML setup and configuration

  • Profile changes: updating email or password

  • Certain security policy controls, such as:

    • Password expiration policy

    • Password reuse restrictions

    • Minimum password length / strong password requirements

    • Account lockout rules

    • Idle session timeout

    • Login IP range restrictions

If you do not see these options in your dashboard, you are part of the small subset of accounts affected.

Why are these settings unavailable?

We are upgrading our identity and access management system to provide stronger security and more consistent account management across the product. This upgrade allows us to deliver a more secure and reliable foundation for authentication and access control. The temporary unavailability of these features is required to ensure a smooth upgrade.

How long will this last?

We are not able to share an exact timeline, but these settings will return once all affected accounts are migrated to the new, upgraded system. We expect the change to be seamless for users when these options are restored.

How do I change my password during this time?

Although the password change option in your profile is temporarily disabled, you can still update your password using the login page

Step 1. Sign out of the Dashboard

  • If you are not currently signed into the Dashboard, go to dashboard.meraki.com.
  • If you are currently signed into the Dashboard, go to the account icon in the top right corner of the page and click "Log out".clipboard_ec31c1fb924393ae3e6eabcfb2b0fee30.png

Step 2. Enter email

Enter the email address associated with your Dashboard account and click "Next".

Step 3. Reset password

Click "Forgot password?" and follow the instructions sent to your email to reset your password.

This method works even if you are currently able to log in and simply want to change your password.

What should I do now?

No action is needed unless you need to update one of the unavailable settings. All other profile and security features remain available. If you urgently need to enforce MFA, configure SAML, or make other security changes, please contact our support team for assistance.

What does this mean for my experience?

There is no impact on your ability to sign in or use the Dashboard. There is no change to your current security posture. Once the upgrade is complete, you will regain access to these settings in the same place you are used to.
