Monitor Catalyst Center Controllers in Dashboard
Introduction
Administration and Organization Summary for Catalyst Center Controllers begin the next phase of monitoring and managing Catalyst Center with the Meraki dashboard. Catalyst Center integration into the Meraki dashboard was introduced with the Meraki and Catalyst Center Global Overview that provides a centralized, cloud-based summary that aggregates health status, alerts, and operational insights across both Catalyst Center and Meraki dashboard organizations.
Catalyst Center Controller administration lets you view the health and status of all your controllers and in future releases will provide additional lifecycle management features for your controllers such as centralized management of controller backups and image upgrades. Organization summary view is the first phase of additional catalyst center views that allow you to monitor the device health and alerts across all of your controllers sites.
Prerequisites
Onboard you Catalyst Center to the Meraki Dashboard from Global Overview.
Controller Administration
When you are a Dashboard administrator of one or more Catalyst Center organization, you can view all of your Catalyst Centers and Catalyst Center health from by navigating to Global > Monitor > Catalyst Center Controllers.
To see additional details and health information for each controller, select the controller name to open the Controller Details. From the controller details page you can:
- View and update your Catalyst Center Organization Name. This name determines how your Catalyst Center will appear in the navigation menu and Global Overview
- Update the catalyst center management IP address
- Launch catalyst center System 360 or System Health (ensure you have IP network access to the Catalyst Center management IP for seamless cross-launch to work.
- View all Catalyst Center system alerts
- View controller cluster health and details
- Intergrate additional Catalyst Center Controllers to dashboard
Organization Summary for Catalyst Center
For each Catalyst Center you have added to Meraki dashboard, you can use the Organization Summary to view and cross-launch to all of the sites managed by the controller and see the health status of all the devices. To access, you can click on the organiation name from Global Overview or by navigating to Organization > Monitor > Summary
From the Catalyst Center Organization Summary you can:
- View the health status of devices managed by the controller for Routers, Wireless LAN Controllers, Access Points and Core, Distribution, Access Switches.
- For any devices that are in Poor or Fair health state, click the health card to view a list of all unhealthy devices in the Catalyst Center
- See the health status for all sites managed by the controller and what device categories at that site are experiencing degraded health.
- Seamlessly cross-launch to the site assurance health page in Catalyst Center for detailed views and troubleshooting.
