Customer Support

What does End-of-Sale mean for existing contracts and support?

End-of-Sale represents Cisco’s intention to no longer sell new licenses of Meraki SM and does not impact existing contracts or support until the Last-Day-of-Support date.

What happens to any remaining Meraki SM licenses after Last-Day-of-Support?

If customers have Meraki SM licenses that extend beyond the Last-Day-of-Support date, Cisco will provide a partial credit for the remaining value of their licenses. Credits will be calculated based on the length of time between the Last-Day-of-Support date and the expiration date of customers’ SM licenses on the purchase order, not the Meraki co-term software date.

Customers do not need to request credit memos. Cisco will automatically initiate the credit memo process on behalf of customers and issue credits to the original purchasing entity. If customers purchased through a distributor or partner, those entities would pass the credit along to the customer either directly or through a VAR if purchased through a distributor.

What happens to customer data after Last-Day-of-Support?

Please refer to the Cisco Meraki Offer Disclosure, available on the Cisco Trust Portal.

What support will be available for Meraki SM customers until Last-Day-of-Support?

Cisco is committed to providing comprehensive support to facilitate a smooth transition for customers. Current Meraki SM customers will continue to receive full support from the Meraki Technical Support team until the product’s Last-Day-of-Support on June 3, 2029. This includes:

  • Technical Support: Ongoing assistance for Sev-1 issues and general inquiries.

  • Platform Maintenance: Continued MDM and backend platform support, including necessary patching and security updates.

  • Critical Functionality: Efforts to avoid disruption to support endpoint management, supporting customers to enroll and manage mobile devices as modern MDM framework changes occur.

  • Reliability and Security: Measures to maintain service reliability and address security vulnerabilities.

In addition, a Technical Migration Guide is available with best practices and guidance for customers on how Meraki SM configurations and policies translate to other MDMs, including Ivanti Neurons for MDM.

How should customers handle renewals or expiring licenses around the End-of-Sale announcement or past the End-of-Sale date prior to Last-Day-of-Support?

Customers should purchase a renewal by the End-of-Sale date to allow enough time to choose a new SM vendor and complete their migration. One-year and three-year licenses are available until the End-of-Sale date.

Can Cisco process a renewal order that has a start date more than 90 days from the start of the SW term?

Yes, Cisco can book an early renewal order with a future start date more than 90 days.

Credit Memos

Will customers receive credits for any licenses that extend beyond Last-Day-of-Support?

Yes. If customers have Meraki SM licenses that extend beyond the Last-Day-of-Support date, Cisco will provide partial credits for the remaining value of the licenses. Credits will be calculated based on the time between the Last-Day-of-Support date and expiration date of Meraki SM licenses on the purchase order, not the Meraki co-termination date.

Do customers need to request credit memos?

No, customers do not need to request credit memos. Cisco will automatically initiate the credit memo process on behalf of customers and issue credits to the original purchasing entity.  If customers purchased through a distributor or partner, those entities would pass the credit along to the customer.

How can customers use these credits?

Credit memos will be issued against the original SM order and applied to the purchasing entity’s Accounts Receivable account with Cisco. For clarity, credits will not be shown on the specific Ivanti SolutionsPlus invoice reflecting customer’s purchase of Ivanti Neurons for MDM.

How are credits issued if the purchase was made via a distributor or partner?

Credits will be issued to the purchasing entity (Distributor, Direct Value-Added Reseller (DVAR), or direct customer). If customers purchased through a distributor or partner, those entities would pass the credit along to the customer either directly or through a VAR if purchased through a distributor.

How will Cisco notify partners or distributors about customer credit eligibility?

More information will be available closer to the Last-Day-of Support on June 3, 2029.

If a customer terminates their licenses prior to the Last-Day-of-Support date, will they receive credit?

No. If licenses are terminated before Last-Day-of-Support, no credits will be issued. All Cisco purchases are non-refundable.
