Creating a Windows Group For MAC Based Authentication

Windows group membership can be specified as a condition of NPS policy for authentication. In MAC based authentication each domain member computer needs an associated User object. These User objects can be added to the Windows security group. 

To create a Windows security group follow the steps below. Once the group is created, add User accounts as members that you wish to authenticate.  

 

 

  1. Open the Active Directory Users and Computers console.
  2. RIght click the OU where you want to create the Windows group.
  3. Select New > Group.
  4. Type the Group name and choose the appropriate Group scope (Normally Global) and specify the Group type as Security. 
  5. Click OK.
  6. Right click the Group.
  7. Choose Properties.
  8. Click the Members tab.
  9. Add each User account you wish to authenticate.
  10. Click OK.
