Unable to Connect to Client VPN from Mobile Device
For troubleshooting issues connecting to client VPN from mobile devices.
General Troubleshooting
Mobile users have minimal device settings for configuring a VPN connection. Use the following recommendations to help troubleshoot connection issues:
- Use the Client VPN OS Configuration article to confirm the connection is configured correctly
- Switch the device from cellular to wi-fi to verify that the issue persists on wi-fi
- If client VPN works on wi-fi but not on cellular, contact your cellular provider to verify that traffic is not blocked on UDP ports 500 and 4500
- Connect the device to a different wi-fi network
- If the connection is successful on the new network, verify that traffic on the original network is not blocked on UDP ports 500 and 4500
- If the connection is not successful on the new network, use the Client VPN OS Configuration article to confirm the connection is configured correctly
