Cannot Add Devices Using Cisco Meraki Order Number

Entering a Cisco Meraki order number into the Claim tool simultaneously claims all devices and licensing included in that order.

If any device from an order have already been claimed, the remaining devices cannot be claimed using the order number.

If you cannot add a device(s) to your dashboard Inventory using its Cisco Meraki order number, add the device manually using its serial number. The serial number is located on the back of each device, as shown in the image below.

Each device also has a serial number bar code that can be used to claim the device using a bar code scanner.

As an alternative solution, organization administrators may remove the already-claimed device(s) from its/their respective environment and, after 5-60 minutes, try claiming the entire order again. If the license key has already been claimed, the order can no longer be claimed using the order number and must be claimed individually.

To claim the license key only, navigate to Organization > Configure > License info. For further instructions on claiming a license key to your organization, select the applicable license model:

Per Device Model (PDL)

If an order contains only licensing it will need to be claimed using the license key and can not be claimed using the order number.
