Questions
If I have On-Prem managed Unified Devices as well as Meraki devices and I want to purchase an EA covering both what are the implications?
Since your Enterprise Agreement will be covering devices deployed in Dashboard, Dashboard is now be the source of truth for licensing. This means that all existing and new access points or switches will need to be assigned to a Network in Dashboard to remain in compliance.
How do I add a Merkai Dashboard to my EA with UNX?
Create a Meraki Dashboard, claim all of your new and existing Dashboard eligible devices (ie. CW917x or C9350) into dashboard, and open a case with support. They will help associate your EA to your dashboard. Note, this will make Dashboard the source of truth for licensing which will require all your UNX devices to be claimed into Dashboard and assigned to a Network.
How do I access additional licenses while operating in Dashboard?
Any device assigned to a Network, covered by an EA with the appropriate suite, will be licensed automatically. Licenses generated in this way will be visible in CSSM, Dashboard, and EA Workspace. Access to additional licenses in EA Workspace will be blocked.
While operating in Dashboard, how do I ensure some of my devices are managed On-Prem?
You can designate whether a Product Type within a Network will be managed On-Prem or Cloud. Instructions for doing this can be found here.
When assigning Virtual Accounts in CSSM to Networks in Dashboard, is a separate Virtual Account needed for each Meraki Network?
No, multiple Meraki Networks can be assigned to one Virtual Account. In this scenario all devices associated with those Networks would be deposited in the associated Virtual Network.
When decommissioning a device, do I need to remove it from CSSM?
No, removing a device should be done in dashboard following these steps. After the device is removed, CSSM will reflect these changes.
When taking an action in dashboard, how long does it take for CSSM to reflect that update?
Changes should be instantaneous.
