Claiming Devices and Licenses in a PDL Organization
- Bulk claim only applies to devices; licenses must always be claimed separately.
- The Order Claim Key is the preferred method and will support partial shipments.
- Ensure you have access to shipment notifications or CCW for claim keys.
Bulk Device Claim
Use the Order Claim Key (found in your shipment notification) to claim all devices in an order at once. This works even if devices arrive in multiple shipments.
Individual Device Claim
Devices can still be claimed one at a time using the Cloud ID from the shipment notification or the device label.
License Claim
Licenses must be claimed separately using the license key(s) from your software fulfillment email(s). Once claimed, these licenses can be assigned to devices.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to claim devices and licenses separately, even after this fix?
A: Yes. Devices and licenses must still be claimed separately. The new fix lets you claim all devices from an order at once using the Order Claim Key.
Q: Can I use my Meraki Order Number (5S order number) instead of the Order Claim Key?
A: Using the Meraki Order Number has been deprecated and is no longer recommended. Use the Order Claim Key for bulk claims.
Q: What if not all my devices show up after using the Order Claim Key?
A: Devices that have already shipped will appear immediately in your inventory. Any unshipped devices will be added automatically once they are shipped.
Q: What if I cannot find my Order Claim Key?
A: The Order Claim Key is included in the Product Claim email sent at shipment. This email goes to end customers, partners, and resellers listed on the order. You can also find the key in your order on CCW. If you do not have CCW access, contact your partner or Cisco support to get the email resent or to obtain the key.
