Cisco Administrator Access

Enabling or Disabling Cisco access to your organization’s Dashboard

As a Cisco customer, you can define the level of access that any individual can have into your organization’s Dashboard. In order for Cisco to effectively support our customers, we give our customers the flexibility to extend their organization’s access to Cisco to help with any support cases.

You can decide whether you’d like to allow or block Cisco Support from accessing your Dashboard by going to Organization > Configure > Settings, and selecting “Full access” or “Blocked”.

If this setting is set to Blocked, Cisco will not have access to your organization.

Note: If access is Blocked, Cisco will not be able to provide you support for your organizations, including troubleshooting, beta testing new features, etc.

For more details on preventing Cisco from accessing your organization’s Dashboard, please refer to this article.

Allowing additional Cisco access to your Dashboard

A Cisco employee from other parts of the organization (Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Security, etc.) may request a higher level of access, Cisco Administrator, to support you for current and new features, beta programs, and/or general support.

The benefits of permitting a Cisco Administrator access to your organization include:

  • Enhanced Support: Enable faster and more effective support

  • Security and Control: Maintain full control over who has access to your dashboard

  • Transparency and Visibility: Monitor activities performed by Cisco employees

If a Cisco employee submits a request for Cisco Administrator access to your organization's Dashboard, you will receive a notification. As an Organization Administrator, you can approve or deny this request and any other requests for access to your Dashboard.

The following actions occur upon approving Cisco Administrator access to your Organization's Dashboard:

  • Temporary Access: Cisco employee(s) will have access to your organization for 90 days only, upon which this access will be revoked.

  • Visibility: A table will be created in the Organizations > Configure > Administrators page displaying all the Cisco Administrators that have been granted access, including their name, permissions level and time remaining.

  • Audit Logs: A change log entry is created any time a Cisco Administrator request is approved or denied.

How to Grant or Deny Access

Requests for Cisco Administrator access to your Organization’s Dashboard will be found in the Organization > Configure > Administrators view.

If there is a request, a banner will be displayed across the top of the page. The banner will contain the name of the Cisco Administrator and the amount of remaining time they have access. You can Approve or Deny the request.
