FIPS 140 Devices and Firmware for Cisco Meraki

Overview

The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140 is a US government standard that establishes minimum security requirements for cryptographic modules in information technology products. If your devices and firmware are on the list, you are connecting to Meraki's cloud with FIPS 140 validated cryptography. 

If you do not find your device on this list, is not FIPS 140 Compliant.  

Your devices may run on firmware that is considered FIPS 140 Compliant or FIPS 140 Interim Compliant and may either meet FIPS 140-2 or FIPS 140-3 criteria.  The designation of each firmware version is shown in the table below and the specifics of each can be found in their compliance letters.  Please note that in our Meraki Cloud for Government, a FedRAMP compliant cloud service, only FIPS 140 Compliant versions of firmware are available.  

Each major firmware release has a minimum minor version which is considered FIPS 140 compliant.  Any higher minor version is considered also compliant in that major release train.  The major release may be represented by 1 or 2 numbers separated by a dot. The minor release is always the last number in this list.
