Modem Firmware Version 

Introducing Modem Firmware Version Visibility on Meraki Dashboard.  

Modem firmware version visibility is now available on the Meraki Dashboard! This feature provides greater transparency and control over your cellular devices and modem firmware status, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting capabilities.  It is available on MG4.1 and MX 19.2 release onwards. 

What’s New?

  • Modem Firmware Version Display: You can now view the current firmware version of your cellular modem directly in the Meraki Dashboard.

  • Improved Visibility & Control: Gain insights into firmware versions across your devices for better management.

  • Simplified Troubleshooting: Easily identify outdated firmware that may require updates to resolve connectivity issues or improve performance.

How to Access

On MG
  1. Log in to your Meraki Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Cellular Gateway > Celluar Gateways > Summary

  3. Locate the Modem Firmware Version under the Modem Firmware section.

On Z4C
  1. Log in to your Meraki Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Teleworker Gateway > Appliance Status

  3. Locate the Modem Firmware Version under the Modem Firmware section.

Fields Displayed on Dashboard

When viewing modem firmware details on the Meraki Dashboard, the following fields will be displayed:

  • Version: Displays the current firmware version installed on the modem.

  • Host Version: Indicates the firmware version running on the host device 

  • Carrier PRI version: Shows the version number of the carrier-specific configuration profile installed on the modem. 

  • Carrier Profile: Displays the active carrier profile being used by the modem.

Recommended Firmware Versions

To ensure the best performance and stability, we recommend the following firmware versions for your Meraki Cellular SKUs:

  • MG41: 32.00.118

  • MG51: M0H.030202

  • MG52: M0R.015003

  • Z4C: M0L.000002

  • Proactive Network Management: Stay informed about the firmware version running on your modems to ensure stability and security.

  • Faster Issue Resolution: Quickly check if firmware updates are needed to troubleshoot connectivity concerns.
