URL Filtering

Table of contents
No headers

Meraki devices allow for filtering of websites by URL, providing both a way to block and whitelist specific URL or an entire domain. However when filtering by URL it is important to note that while you can whitelist a child address and block the parent address it is not currently possible to whitelist a parent address and block a child address.

In the above example the wildcard "*" would allow all addresses even though the address example.com is blocked because being on the whitelist takes precedence over the block list. If the wildcard was removed the child.example.com address would be allowed while example.com would be blocked.
