URL Filtering

Cisco Meraki devices allow for filtering of websites by URL, providing both a way to block and allow a specific URL or an entire domain. However, when filtering by URL it is important to note that while you can allow a child address and block the parent address it is not currently possible to allow a parent address and block a child address.

Configuration of allowed and blocked URL patterns
In the above example the wildcard "*" would allow all addresses even though the address example.com is blocked because being on the allowed URL list takes precedence over the block list. If the wildcard was removed, the child.example.com address would be allowed while example.com would be blocked.
