Search 2.0

With the launch of Dashboard Search 2.0, new feature sets and search criteria are now accessible via Dashboard search. 

Cross Org Mac Search 

Dashboard Search 2.0 introduces a new feature called cross org mac search. This feature allows an administrator to use the search function to poll every Dashboard organization they are a part of. Previously, administrators that had over 100 organizations would have to go one by one to find a particular mac address. Now with the help of cross org mac search, they need only search once. 

Searchable Criteria

There are many options available to network admins when searching their organization in Meraki Dashboard. See the below table for more information about what search options are supported. 

Note on Catalyst Center in Dashboard: Catalyst Center search from Meraki Dashboard is launching in May '26 for customers who onboard their Catalyst Center instance(s) to Global Overview. It features Catalyst Center site, device and client search with seamless and secure SSO cross launch to network hierarchy, device 360, and client 360.

Client mac 

 00:11:22:33:44:55 Search across organizations associated with the user account for the MAC address "00:11:22:33:44:55". This can also be used to search for a Meraki MAC address. 
Client name  Test Client  Search the current organization for the client name Test Client.
Configuration  Router Firewall

Navigate to the Security and SD-WAN firewall page of your current network.
Device name Lab MX Search the current organization for devices with the name "Lab MX".
Network  Test Network  Search for the network name "Test Network" across all organizations.
Serial number  1234-5678-9ABC Search for the serial number "1234-5678-9ABC" across all organizations. 

 

At this time, organizations with more than 10,0000 recently observed unique clients may not display search results when searching by client name.

Searching by full client MAC address however is still available.
