ThousandEyes Endpoint

ThousandEyes Endpoint

ThousandEyes Endpoint targets enable integration with the ThousandEyes platform, allowing you to monitor network performance through workflows. By configuring ThousandEyes Endpoint targets, you can automate interactions with the ThousandEyes platform, leverage its REST APIs, and incorporate its insights into your network.

Before You Begin

Before adding ThousandEyes as a target type in Workflows, ensure that you have:

  • Valid licenses for both ThousandEyes and Meraki Insight.

  • An account with OAuth bearer token authentication is set up in ThousandEyes. You can generate and manage OAuth tokens in your ThousandEyes user profile settings.

  • Access to a ThousandEyes account group. The account group is required for linking your Meraki Dashboard with ThousandEyes. Complete the account linking during onboarding by authenticating with your ThousandEyes account group to connect the Meraki Dashboard with ThousandEyes. For more information, see Meraki and ThousandEyes Integration Troubleshooting .

  • The ThousandEyes API endpoint URL and API versions.

Procedure

Perform the following steps to create a new target:

  1. From the left navigation menu, click Automation > Targets.

  2. Click New Target.

  3. From the Target Type drop-down list, choose ThousandEyes Endpoint.

  4. Enter a unique display name for the target in the Display Name field and a brief description in the Description field.

  5. In the Account Keys area, click the Default Account Keys drop-down list and choose an existing ThousandEyes API account key or choose Add New to create a new account key.

  6. In the ThousandEyes area, enter the following information:

    • Protocol - Choose the appropriate protocol (HTTP or HTTPS).

    • Host/IP Address - Enter the host name or IP address for the ThousandEyes API endpoint (e.g., https://api.thousandeyes.com).

    • Port - Enter the ThousandEyes API port number if applicable (default HTTPS port is 443).

    • API Version - Specify the version of the ThousandEyes API to use (e.g., v6 or v7). This ensures that the target interacts with the correct API endpoints and features corresponding to that version.

  7. In the Proxy area, enter the URL, Username, and Password for your proxy server if required.

  8. The Proxy Bypass List allows you to provide a list of hosts to exclude from the proxy. Use the Ignore Proxy toggle to display or hide the proxy settings.

  9. Click Save to save the target.
