FAQ: Scheduled Maintenance Impacting Order and Device Claiming on the Meraki Dashboard


From June 6, 2024, at 23:00 to June 7, 2024, 01:00 UTC, we will be conducting scheduled maintenance on the Meraki dashboard, specifically targeting the order and device claiming functionalities. This planned update is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the reliability and performance of our services.


During this two-hour window, users will temporarily be unable to claim or unclaim devices and orders. It's important to note that this maintenance is designed to have minimal impact on your day-to-day operations, as all devices connected to the Meraki dashboard will continue functioning normally. Other dashboard functionalities will not be affected, including claiming licenses, network monitoring, configuration, and management. This FAQ aims to address common concerns and provide guidance to help you easily navigate this maintenance period.


What is the goal of the scheduled maintenance?

If you attempt to claim or unclaim devices during maintenance, you'll encounter the following error message:

"Order and device claiming is undergoing routine maintenance and your request cannot be completed at this time. Please try claiming your order or device again after June 7, 2024 at 01:00 UTC."

Will other Meraki Dashboard functionalities be impacted?

No, the maintenance targets only the order and device-claiming processes. All devices on the Meraki dashboard will operate normally, and functionalities such as claiming licenses, network monitoring, configuration, and management will be unaffected.

What steps should I take if I need to claim or unclaim devices during the maintenance period?

You will not be able to claim or unclaim devices during the maintenance period; therefore, we advise scheduling your device claiming and unclaiming tasks before the maintenance begins or after it has been completed.
