What is 'First Year on Us'?
Between September 16, 2020, and January 23, 2021, any customer that purchases a new Cisco Meraki cloud management license for 3 years or more will get an additional year added at no extra cost! So 3 years becomes 4, and 5 years becomes 6, and...well, you get it! Available license term lengths that are eligible for this promotion include 3, 5, 7 and 10 year licenses.
Are license renewals eligible?
No, license renewals or extensions are not eligible for the extra year. The promotion is only valid on new device licenses of 3 or more years for new and existing Meraki customers.
How will Meraki determine what is a “new” license purchase (or what is eligible for this promotion)?
Meraki will apply this promotion to new license purchases and not to license renewals or extensions. This determination will be made based on the action customers take when claiming license purchases in the Meraki dashboard. Customers must use the ‘License more devices’ action within their Meraki dashboard in order to receive the additional year of licensing. When customers select ‘renew’, the promotion will not be applied.
All new licenses with a length of 3 or more years for all Meraki products and services are eligible for the 'First Year on Us' promotion, including both enterprise and advanced versions of any available licenses. Please note, however, that some product licenses are not sold globally.
Both Meraki Insight and MR advanced licenses are included in the ‘First Year on Us’ promotion, however you will need to ensure the underlying MX or MR licenses are valid for the length of the new license. This will ensure your get the full value of the purchased license.
How do I claim the extra year?
The extra 365 days are added automatically in the Meraki dashboard when you claim the licenses using the “License more devices” action. No extra steps are required.
What if I purchased a new license before September 16, 2020?
Meraki will honor the extra year on any eligible license purchased between July 26, 2020 and January 23, 2021.
Please note that while in most cases the extra year will be applied immediately to all purchases made between September 16, 2020 and January 23, 2021, we will retroactively make changes to customer’s licenses for any eligible licenses purchased between July 26, 2020 and September 16, 2020.
Is there a limit on this promotion?
There is no limit on the number of eligible licenses per customer for this promotion. In addition, there are no purchase size/number requirements.
Is this a global promotion?
Yes, ‘First Year on Us’ is available globally, except Russia. You can access the full terms and conditions here.
When does this promotion expire?
All new licenses must be purchased and booked by end of day January 23, 2021. We will not be offering this promotion to licenses purchased after January 23, 2021.
Will this promotion apply if I would like to upgrade my 'Legacy' or 'Free 100' Systems Manager account?
Yes! You can use this promotion to upgrade your Free 100 or Legacy Systems Manager to a paid Systems Manager account when purchasing 3 or 5 year licenses.
I added the license and the year did not appear, what do I do?
If you made a qualifying purchase but the extra year is not showing up by the end of 2020, we recommend contacting Meraki Support. In some cases, the extra year will not appear immediately after adding a valid license to Meraki Dashboard. To contact Meraki Support please visit Help > Get Help and select "Still need help?" in the Meraki dashboard to find contact options for the Meraki Support team. Licenses issues are generally best handled by our licensing team, who are best reached with the "Submit an email case" option.
For public sector customers in the United States, how does this promotion work with E-Rate?
All customers have until January 23, 2021, to add their new license to dashboard and claim the additional year. If e-rate funding is approved after January 23, 2021, the promotion will not be honored. For additional information on e-rate or customers in the public sector, please contact your Meraki account representative.
