Support Data Bundle (SDB)
Overview
The Support Data Bundle (SDB), previously referred to as Out-of-Band Log Fetching (OOB), is a tool on Cisco Meraki devices used to download encrypted logs directly from the local status page. The SDB is useful for troubleshooting issues on devices that cannot be accessed through the cloud. You can send the SDB to Meraki Support for decryption and inspection. Support may also request the SDB in certain cases.
The SDB is available on the following devices:
- Meraki MS switches running firmware version MS 10.31+.
-
CS 16+ and IOS-XE Native 17.15+
- MX WAN appliances and Z3 teleworker gateways running firmware version MX 13.36+ or MX 14.34+
- MG cellular gateways running firmware version MG 1.9+
- Most MR access points running firmware version MR 26.0+
- The following models are not supported:
- Z1
- MR11
- MR12
- MR14
- MR16
- MR18
- MR62
- MR66
Using the support data bundle
Devices running firmware that supports the SDB feature display a Download support data UI element in the Configuration section (or Uplink configuration on switches) of the local status page. local status page.

A user with access to a device can navigate to the local status page and select Download to download an encrypted SDB file. The download process takes 15 seconds to approximately one minute. The encrypted file can be sent using any available file transfer method, such as email or a drive. The downloaded file is named in the following format: SDB_[mac-address]_[timestamp].
On MS390 switches, the SDB may take up to six to eight minutes to download, depending on the size of the stack. The extended download time is due to the volume of low-level debug logs collected. Do not disconnect or refresh the page unless more than 10 minutes have passed since you selected Download.
