Cisco SASE: Policy
Security policies are key component of an organization's cybersecurity framework. They are designed to control and manage who can access network resources, applications, and data. These policies set rules to ensure only authorized users and devices connect to the network. This protects sensitive information from unauthorized access and threats.
Organizations policies enforce authentication, authorization, and accountability. These measures reduce data breach risks and ensure compliance with regulations. Policies usually include multi-factor authentication, role-based access control, network segmentation, and continuous monitoring to strengthen security.
There are two dashboards where to configure policies in Cisco SASE with Meraki SD-WAN, security firewall policies on MX devices are separate from Secure Access security policies. All firewall settings enforced locally on MX devices are configured through the Meraki dashboard. Cloud security profiles and policies are configured separately in the Secure Access dashboard.
